What type of joy do we seek? Do we desire lasting joy that originates from spiritual success or natural good fortune that’s temporal? Well being or happiness in a spiritual sense occurs through a process of adjustments, surrender, persistence, trust, alignment and relationship with the Lord. A decision to allow these elements to work in our life shifts us from one spiritual dimension to another. This produces an environment where the Lord can touch our circumstances resulting in Kingdom joy. Personally we must make a decision to go God's way no matter the resistance. David, for instance rejoiced over God’s righteousness (Psalm 71:14-16), salvation (Psalm 21:1, 71:23), mercy (Psalm 31:7), creation (Psalm 148:5), word (Psalm 119:14, 162), faithfulness (Psalm 33:1-6), Holy character, and His mighty acts even in the midst of great turmoil. His selfless and steadfast understanding of God enabled David to experience joy as evidenced through his writings in Psalms.
Far and above, happiness experienced through righteous people (Psalm 150; Philippians 4:4) is actually produced by the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). This kind of joy looks beyond the present to a future godly solution (Romans 5:2, 8:18; I Peter 1:4, 6). The Holy Spirit illuminates the sovereignty of God, who works out all things for the ultimate good even when the mind tells us to believe otherwise. This unspeakable joy is distinct from mere happiness and is present during times of intense pressure and confusion (I Corinthians 12:26; II Corinthians 6:10, 7:4).
During the month of Adar it’s important to recognize our spiritual identity and mission in God’s Kingdom. Sadly, some never benefit from their identity in the supernatural dimension and remain totally natural. It is necessary to remove the masquerade (false identity) and enter into our true identity with laughter. Ask the Lord, during Adar,
“What is my spiritual identity and how do I accomplish it?” Friends, demons recognize our heavenly signature because it’s written on us. Because they (demons) can see it, we might as well become it! Be proactive to ask the Lord to define you are in the realm of the Spirit and then accept what He’s deposited in your life! Many do not know their spiritual identity because they do not inquire of Him. There are others who resist their spiritual identity because it’s easier to trust themselves rather than the Lord. Why don’t you make a decision to leave fear behind and become intentional to fulfill the purposes of the Lord?
During the month of Adar (Joy) we declare over your life unspeakable joy that springs from your relationship with the Father!
May the JOY of the Lord be your strength...
